Summary

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is the Island of Oahu, HI. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.

This position is located at MWR Fort Shafter Bowling Center.

Although this position is NOT entitled to 10.99% COLA (Oahu, HI), incumbents are entitled to Shift Differential Pay, Holiday Pay and Sunday Premium Pay.

This is a "Flexible" position (0-40 hours) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. Hours may include nights, weekends, holidays and all shifts.

This is an Open Continuous announcement with an* initial extended cutoff date of Wednesday, 28 March 2018*. All eligible applicants will be referred to management at that time. Additional cutoff dates will be established on an as-needed basis per management request.

Responsibilities
  • In a Snack Bar, prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items.
  • Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned, and cleans other work areas to include walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Accepts food orders from patrons and serves alcoholic beverages.
  • Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas.
  • Orders fast food items, condiments, and other necessary supplies.
  • Serves as cashier in the snack bar, receiving payment by cash or charge, and completes cash report at the end of assigned shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, holidays and all shifts.
  • Must be willing and able to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to stand, stoop, bend, pull, push and reach for long periods of time.
  • Must be willing and able to complete food sanitation and safety training within the first thirty (30) days of employment and on an annual basis thereafter.
  • A pre-employment occupational physical is required for this position.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must be able to work without more than normal supervision.
  2. Must be able to keep work area clean, neat and in order.
  3. Must have applied basic food preparation and handling techniques.
  4. Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  5. Must be familiar with basic sanitization principles.
  6. Must be able to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
  7. Must meet state/local age requirements (18 years) for the serving of alcoholic beverages by projected appointment date. Please Note: In order to meet the minimum requirements for experience, your experience must be clearly stated in your resume. Incomplete applications will be rated as ineligible.
