U.S. Bank CBBD Financial Crimes Compliance Advisory Consultant in Honolulu, Hawaii

The Community Banking and Branch Delivery (CBBD) Financial Crimes Control (FCC) Team is hiring an Advisory Consultant to provide expertise and oversight duties to shared groups. The Consultant will be responsible for reviewing AML-related Policies and Procedure to understand Bank and Business Line processes for: Customer Identification Program and Customer Due Diligence functions, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Periodic Reviews, management of high risk and special requirements customers, and the management of alerts related to fraud, OFAC, KYC and high risk. The candidate will support the CBBD FCC Advisory Team by ensuring compliance with the policies and procedures and by supplying the shared groups with guidance and expertise. Additionally, this role will assist in the creation of procedures, managing the annual gap assessment process, providing subject matter expertise throughout issue remediation and AML-related projects, maintaining an inventory of business process controls that align to the AML-related policies, and supporting BL decisions on account closures and handling of AML matters within customer relationships.

  • Develop subject matter expertise in specific Business Units to provide BU-specific guidance around policy and procedure applicability

  • Provide support and guidance to the CBBD BUs on handling of specific customer types

  • Liaison between Business Units and CBBD FCC for issue remediation and AML projects

  • Provide BL decisions on proposed account closure due to KYC reviews

  • Liaison between Enterprise Financial Crime Compliance and CBBD FCC to assess policy changes and obtain policy implementation guidance when needed

  • Identify potential process and procedural enhancements and work with CBBD resources to implement

  • Record decisions/guidance provided to BUs and assess for areas that may require further communication, training, or procedure updates

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Five to seven years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

  • Applicable professional certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Five to ten years of experience in financial crimes risk or compliance and/or BSA/AML/OFAC risk management

  • CAMS, CFE or other applicable certification preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and compliance

  • Strong investigational and analytical research skills

  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to summarize findings and present in a clear and concise manner to peers, direct and senior level management.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
