AECOM is seeking a Welder, Maintenance Worker to join our MATSS Team at Pearl Harbor.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Welder should perform welding duties and be located full-time on Oahu, Hawaii.
Candidate shall be required to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and work from work orders.
Candidate shall have an understanding of welding symbols, and fabricate/ manufacture-welded parts from engineering drawing without direct supervision.
When welding work is not required the individual shall perform deck work as directed by site supervisor. These include repair, replacing, overhauling components and equipment, and adjust, repair or replace electrical wiring systems.
Candidate shall be required to participate on all At-Sea-Missions averaging 17 days/ 16 hour days per mission, and totaling 3 to 5 missions per year.
Candidate while on At-Sea Missions shall be required to perform various tasks at-sea. Including performing deck and rigging tasks, cooking and preparing meals, cleaning of galley and berthing areas, conducting rounds, and performing emergency repairs.
Welder should have ten (10) years of experience or graduated from a technical school with eight (8) years of work experience.
Welder shall be able to demonstrate vertical-up weld on 3/8 inch carbon steel (S-1 type such as DH-36) using weld process of choice, to be subjected to non-destructive examination (NDE) or destructive root bend and face bend test.
Welder is not required to be fully certified to S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248.
Candidate shall have training and certifications in areas such as firefighting, ship damage control, rigging, crane operation, forklift operation, man-lift operation, fast rescue boat operations, first aid, automatic external defibrillator, CPR, and sanitary food service.
Additional experience should be shown in supporting operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and testing of the vessel systems.
